Governor Charlie Baker today took the wraps off his final state budget, a plan that totals $48.5 billion.
The spending proposal calls for more money for education and local cities and towns. It also comes with a plan to cut over $700 million in taxes to seniors and low-income residents.
Fall River State Representative Carole Fiola says legislators still need to examine the budget before making any decision on tax cuts or other spending initiatives.
