Westport Historical Society will host “a visual walk down old Horseneck Beach” at Westport Public Library from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12.
Presented by postcard collector David Jones, the talk features a newly discovered collection of historic photographs by music teacher and photographer Clarence Williston, a summer resident of East Beach.
“This program will provide an opportunity to view rarely seen images of East Beach and to rediscover the history of a community that was wiped out by the hurricane of 1938,” according to the society.
The snow date is Saturday, January 19. The suggested donation is $5.
