Congressman Jake Auchincloss joined Mayor Paul Coogan and local legislative leaders on a tour of businesses on Pleasant Street to promote his work on securing $1.6 million in federal funds toward projects to revitalize the Llint neighborhood.
Mayor Coogan says the money is small a step in making Pleasant Street more livable and attractive for economic development.
Congressman Auchincloss says the plans the city has for the neighborhood signify a shift from city planning principles of the last century.
The mayor is hopeful that work on some of the storefronts along Pleasant Street will begin in the coming weeks.
