The Atlantis Charter School is the first public school to start the new year, with students returning on Monday, August 24. In its 32nd year serving Fall River, the interest in the K-12 school remains strong.
Mr. Beatty says the focus in the lower grades remains improving basic education and literacy. On the high school level, the school looks to enhance its career academy offerings.
Mr. Beatty says the school remains focused on improving achievement test scores and expanding its career opportunities for students.
In the coming year, Atlantis plans to introduce cross country and expand its wrestling team as part of its athletics program. The Travel Club, following a successful trip to Europe last year, is eyeing a trip to Japan next spring.
