The Fall River City Council on Tuesday again voted to reject Mayor Paul Coogan’s FY 2027 city budget.
The council cut over one million dollars from the emergency medical services enterprise fund, which put the spending plan out of balance. Some members are seeking to add $40,000 to the council’s account to use to hire legal support.
On Wednesday, Mayor Paul Coogan said the city is looking at options in crafting the next version of the budget.
If the council does not pass a budget by next Wednesday, the city will be forced to work on a continuing appropriation, or a 1/12th monthly budget.
