Dozens Take Part in Diman’s Final Walkthrough

Dozens of former students of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School had one final opportunity yesterday to relive memories of the building where they learned their craft before it is replaced by a new school at its campus on Stonehaven Road this fall.

The “Final Walkthrough” consisted of attendees taking items from the school that would not make the trek to the new building.

Alumni from multiple generations rummaged through the artifacts and reflected on their formative years as Diman students. Among them was Michael Michaud, an auto body repair graduate in the class of 1986, and Manuel Ventura, a 1975 graduate of the automotive shop. They still have fond memories of Diman.

People took the opportunity to sign the walls of the gymnasium and take artifacts ranging from old yearbooks to soon-to-be-discarded desks and chairs. Mr. Bentley said the bond of those who attended the 50-year-old-plus school remains strong and will carry the institution into the future.
