Residents Receiving Subsidized Health Insurance May Face Changes in 2027

HealthFirst Family Care Center is advising Fall River residents who receive federal health insurance subsidies to watch for a mailing about their benefits status effective January 1.

The Trump administration has proposed a cut to subsidies that could increase health insurance costs.

Those who receive insurance from the Massachusetts Health Connector may be impacted by the proposed cuts.

Under the administration’s plan, those covered under MassHealth will need to renew their benefits twice a year, beginning in 2027.

HealthFirst asks residents to carefully read any letters they receive about their coverage and seek help as soon as possible. Open enrollment in the Massachusetts Health Connector begins October 23 and runs until January 23.
